What we’re about

We are a group of users of the R programming language who come together on a regular basis to share their projects, questions, techniques and ideas.

We want to maintain an open forum for exchange, and talk about code in technical detail. We welcome R users of all backgrounds and skill levels – nobody will be judged on experience or proficiency!

The primary focus of our group is the use of R in research and teaching in universities, but our interests and curiosities are much broader – ranging from data visualization and machine machine learning to GIS applications, data journalism or publishing stacks.

We want to experiment with meetings beyond the expert presentation with discussion, there is enough of that in academia already. Our ideas for session formats include lightning talks, coding challenges, and BYOP (bring your own problem).

So if you're using R and want to talk about it, come to one of our meetings and say hi!
