Ideas that challenge our deepest assumptions.

This reading group is not restricted to academic philosophy. Topics also include politics, science, religion, psychology, art, technology, and social theory.

Each theme contains two contrasting texts. The goal is not necessarily to determine who is “right”, but to put the arguments into direct conversation with each other.

Guiding questions are:
What assumption is the author challenging?
Is the argument convincing?
What follows if we take the argument seriously?
What does the opposing text reveal that the first text overlooks?

Every month we discuss a pro and contra perspective on themes like truth, morality and consciousness.
