Freerange Lifelong Learning: A history of Ragged Uni with Questions and Answers

Details

Hello,

This is the first event in a while, partly because of the writing of theories of learning and practice in the background, partly because I have been practicing what I have learned over the last 15 years by supporting individuals, groups and organisations (we free web development), and partly because part of following the core aim of the Ragged University project I sketched out which - for 'the organiser' - is to embody what happens in formal higher education in their own lives.

Lots of people have been in touch asking about more events or if 'the project' is still 'alive'. This event is more to answer questions and also have a conversation about Ragged University with people who are interested in the pedagogy and legacy of 15 years of a practice gleaned from various traditions of social learning.

The event is particularly for those who are interested in potentially doing their own events and structured learning in their own lives and communities - and who potentially want to use the infrastructure of Ragged Uni (i.e. the website and meetup group) to run some events. Think of it as an informal AGM of sorts which happens periodically.

It will be nice to see old faces and new faces and have a conversation about 'life long learning'.

Bring along a bite of some food to put on the table to share, and help take away what is left at the end.

Hope you are well and happy,

Alex Dunedin

PS: If you have not had a look at the website before, this is the place you can find much of what people have shared through the project, but also where I have written up the educational and pedagogical ideas which run through the work to date.
