What weāre about
Rainbow Social Melbourne is exactly that. An LGBTQIA+ social group in Melbourne. I get numbers from Meet up, instagram and Facebook.
We meet for drinks, trivia, walks, wine tours, picnics, hikes, bingo, dinners and more. The main purpose is for our community to re-connect but also supporting our queer venues.
Iām Steven, creator, founder and host of Rainbow Social. Iāll always be in rainbow shirt to welcome, greet, include and get you connected. There are also people who help me in rainbow shirt.
The 3cs, commitment, consistency and courage. Of course it can be uncomfortable, scary and nervous to come along to something new but that is part of being human!
I want you to not only connect but really make friends. However, to do this you need to attend events as often and consistent as you can. The events are there!
It can be scary and nervous coming for the first time but Iām always there to welcome you! Other ways to come along is bring a friend. Meet up with me one on one or go to venue before hand.
Having some base questions can also help.
We are always creating a safe space as best as possible. A safe space means you feel welcomed, connected and included. Doing this by greeting you when you walk in, connect you with the right people by asking a few simple questions at the start and them directing you to the right people. However, itās also up to you to engage best you can.
If nervous, anxious or unsure. Reach out and can always do a coffee or walk before hand.
Itās a gay community specific but itās open to anyone 18+. All welcome.
Remember consistency is key to building friendships/relationships. We also welcome straight, questioning, asexual, poly and more. For the community, by the community.

After a hugely successful first speed friending saw over 100 people and connections as well as 200 people at the 4th birthday party, Rainbow Social Melbourne continues to shine a light on connections, supporting queer venues and really intentional as a group!!

Note: You are also welcome to bring outside food into venue!! This is open to ALL genders. However, is NOT wheelchair accessible.

Oscar will be there in Rainbow to meet and greet you. Remember the idea is to meet and mix with others. Therefore, Oscar might ask you at certain points to chat and mingle.
Join us as we head to Corner Hotel Richmond for Drag Bingo with Melbourneās best and seasoned queens.
Corner Hotel is close to Richmond station and trams along Swan St, as well as buses along Punt Rd.
Gathering from 6:15pmpm in the bandroom downstairs for a dinner and mingle first then bingo starts at 7pm. Ordering from 6:30pm.
Limited spots due to bookings and making it more intimate experience.
It is ok if you arrive at 7pm.

Free Sausage Sizzle - Pride Centre (St Kilda)
Victorian Pride Centre. , 79-81 Fitzroy St, St Kilda, AUJoin us for a sizzling good time at our Free Sunday Sizzle on the first Sunday of every month at the Victorian Pride Centre, On the rooftop in St Kilda.
After a hugely successful 4th birthday, this is the next event.
Arrival from 1pm to get your free sausage sizzle. Oscar will be there to meet and greet you. This is very casual and relaxed meet up.
ALL genders welcomed!
Grab a bite at our rooftop sausage sizzle and peruse a curated selection of LGBTQI+ goodies at Gay Stuff Markets downstairs in the forum.
