Steven, creator, founder, and host of Rainbow Social. You’ll always spot me in a rainbow shirt — welcoming you, introducing you, and helping you feel included and connected. I’m often supported by others in rainbow shirts too.
At the heart of Rainbow Social are the 3 C’s:
Commitment. Consistency. Courage.
Coming along to something new can feel uncomfortable, scary, or nerve-wracking — that’s part of being human. Showing up is an act of courage.
The goal isn’t just to meet people — it’s to make real friends. That happens through consistency. The more often you attend, the easier it becomes and the deeper the connections grow.
If it’s your first time and you’re feeling nervous, I’ll always be there to welcome you. Other ways to make it easier:
- Bring a friend
- Meet up with me one-on-one beforehand
- Arrive early to the venue
- Have a few base questions ready such as what shows are watching, how did you get here, what are your interests, helps get conversation started.
We do our best to create a safe space — one where you feel welcomed, included, and connected. This starts with greeting you as you arrive, asking a few simple questions, and introducing you to the right people. From there, it’s a shared effort — engaging as best you can.
If you’re feeling anxious or unsure, reach out. We can always do a coffee or a walk beforehand.
Rainbow Social is a gay community–focused group, open to anyone 18+. We warmly welcome gay, lesbian, bi, trans, straight, questioning, asexual, poly, and more.
For the community. By the community.
Remember — consistency is key to building friendships and relationships 🌈
