The Rainbow Ventures Summit connects and supports LGBTQ+ entrepreneurs across Alabama. We organize Alabama’s only annual entrepreneurship conference created by and for LGBTQ+ founders, and we host events throughout the year to help founders build their businesses, skills, and networks.

Who this group is for
LGBTQ+ startup founders, small-business owners, and aspiring entrepreneurs at any stage, along with the allies, mentors, investors, and partners who want to see more LGBTQ+-led businesses start, grow, and stay in Alabama.

What you’ll find here

• The annual Rainbow Ventures Summit, with workshops, expert panels, a pitch competition with cash prizes, and free vendor tables
• Workshops and skill-building sessions throughout the year
• Networking and social events where you can meet other founders and build relationships

Our events are free and open to all, with a focus on LGBTQ+ founders. We believe cost should never keep someone from the resources, connections, and opportunities they need to succeed.

Why we do this
LGBTQ+ founders create more jobs and more patents than the average founder, yet they receive less than 1% of startup funding. Birmingham is one of the largest entrepreneurial cities in the country with no LGBTQ+ founders represented in national startup data. We know these founders are here, and we’re building the community and support to help them thrive.
