About us
Rainbow Wellington is a group that's been around for over 25 years, representing the interests of and organising social activities for rainbow people in the Wellington region.
Our regular programme of social events includes monthly pub nights at rainbow-friendly venues, and special one-off events.
We take up issues of general interest to the rainbow community such as human rights and health issues and we issue statements on public issues as these might arise from time to time.
We are an incorporated society and registered charity.

For three decades, Rainbow Wellington has worked to connect, support, and advocate for LGBTQIA+ people across our region. This milestone celebration is an opportunity to come together with members, friends, allies, and supporters in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere as we honour our history and look ahead to the future.
Hosted at Everybody Eats - located on the iconic site of the former Alfie’s nightclub. Expect great food, pride decorations, nostalgia, laughter, and a few surprises along the way.
Your ticket includes a delicious three-course dinner , with drinks available to purchase separately. There will also be entertainment, spot prizes, and themed fun throughout the evening.
Most importantly, this event is also a fundraiser supporting the ongoing work of Rainbow Wellington and helping us continue creating connection, visibility, advocacy, and community for Rainbow people in Wellington.
