Raleigh Cooks!

This group is for Raleigh area residents who enjoy expanding their cooking repertoire by exploring new recipes. We have themed events where we each explore new recipes relating to the theme. Our events are mainly hosted by our members and follow a potluck format. We have a wide variety of experience from those with professional training, experienced cooks, and those who have just started their culinary adventures.

While we are social, we require that members are active cooks who bring new dishes to our events. The focus is on expanding our cooking skills by trying new recipes at each event. There are other meetups available for mainly socializing. Members can bring guests and event hosts can have anyone they wish attend.

We normally have one large group (25-30) and one small group (8-20) meetup each month hosted by a member. Member hosts can suggest themes or pick one that are on the site that have no host and/or date. We also occasionally have restaurant events and other special meetups such as visiting local cooking classes or food tours, but our focus is on the hosted events.

We are currently restricting new memberships through the answers to the required questions unless recommended by current, active members. We have $5 annual dues after a 60 day trial membership and this is enforced. Dues are used to pay Meetup.com fees and other expenses. Unpaid/inactive members will be periodically deleted from the membership rolls. Membership requests are moderated and are not guaranteed. Our events are self hosted so we can't accommodate large numbers of members.
