What we’re about
Do you like your horror sprinkled with social commentary, subversion, and unabashed fun? Meet us as we dive into a variety of mediums (books, movies, graphic novels, table top games, etc.) for stories that go bump in the night. We'll cover a blend of popular and lesser known works, as well as new and old. We have Raleigh in our name, but we move our events around the Triangle to help with commutes, and to try fun, new locations.
Rules
Safe Space - We're a Queer and gender inclusive group. We do not tolerate hate, intolerance, discrimination, or harassment in any form. Everyone is welcome (if they behave right!) Respect pronouns.
Respectful Interactions - this is not a dating opportunity, full stop. We meet for community around a shared interest. Other Meetups are available for dating. Do not solicit personal information from members or direct message members of this group on Meetup or Discord for flirting purposes. It’s extremely uncomfortable, and this group highly values safety.
Plan your transportation to and from an event. Do not ask others for rides. If someone asks for a ride at a Meetup, please tell them we have a rule prohibiting it. Carpooling for a special event can be done in the chat, where it is transparent, but it should not be a regular occurrence.
We're a horror group that frequently discusses heavy themes and social commentary, so we have a rule around thoughtful debate and disagreement. Members should be able to express differences of opinion respectfully, without resorting to patronizing or sarcastic statements.
Beth is the organizer and mod for the group, so please feel free to message any questions, concerns, or requests for help. If a member makes you feel unsafe, please let me know.
