Chanderi & Nakhind trek with homestay

Vangani

Done with the regular treks involving gentle inclines and plateaus? Try the Naakhind Ridge Trek for a change! Why is it worth trying? On a clear day, the top offers stunning panoramic views of Matheran, Irshalgad, Prabalgad, Kalavantin Durg, Chanderi, Haji Malang & Tahuli. What makes it unique? The thrilling, dangerous walk on the narrow ridge at the top that ends in a needle-hole-like structure in the rocks, called ‘Nedhe’, where a mixture of wild breeze, rain and sunshine welcome you with equal verve! Difficulty: Moderate, Highest Elevation: 585m, distance: 7 k.m. approx. Not just the paper-thin ridge, but everything about this route is tiny and constricted, making it look straight out of a fairy-tale, including the dwarfish waterfalls on the way! What more does this weekend have to offer me?... In order to make the most out of your Vangani visit and to give you an enthralling high-endurance experience, we are combining Nakhind Ridge with the much-awaited Chanderi Trek on the very next day, i.e. Sunday with the option of Food & Homestay on Saturday night! Chanderi is one of the highest forts in this region and often heralded as a ‘pilgrimage’ by many seasoned trekkers. Known for its abundant waterfalls, dense jungle routes and majestic rock structures at the top, this fort stands tall at 800 meters above sea-level, offering stunning views and that top-of-the-world feeling at the pinnacle! The trek is considered to be of ‘difficult grade’ during the monsoon, and hence it is recommended that you attempt it only if you have done medium and difficult grade treks in the past. Those attempting both the treks together must ensure perfect fitness levels and the readiness to rough it out on both days! We waited all season long for the rainfall to subside, as this trek can get extremely risky during heavy downpours! We hope that our speculation is up to the mark, and the water levels are just right for you to get the maximum revelry out of the waterfalls and stream-crossings!
