Asava Trek
Details
Asava, a relatively less known fort in Boisar, offers a wide variety of elements that would gratify both the nature lover and history buff alike! The recently excavated cannon is on proud display at the summit and helps us time-travel through the centuries, when this fort would have probably served as a strategic watchtower that guarded the coastal regions of Palghar-Boisar.
The two water cisterns that get filled during the monsoons are an added attraction, along with a rain-water harvesting tank with steps, and the ancient “Sleeping Seeta”, that has been excavated and worshiped by the villagers. The Ganesh Gufa, along with its natural water source, is a cozy but spacious cave, that can host about a hundred people at once.
