20 DAYS IN MARIUPOL is the Oscar-winning documentary about the first twenty days of the Ukraine war and the vital work of war journalists. Trapped in the besieged city of Mariupol, a team of AP journalists struggle to continue their work documenting the atrocities of the Russian invasion amid life-threatening danger on all sides.
2000 METERS TO ANDRIIVKA is the follow-up film by the same team, recently selected as Ukraine's entry for Best International Film at the Oscars this year. A Ukrainian platoon attempts to liberate a strategic village from Russian forces. A journalist joins them, observing the impacts of war and growing doubts about its resolution.
The event will start at 5:30 with an interval between the films, and all tickets are free. Any money you can donate on the day will be gratefully collected for Ukraine Relief, a fantastic charity responsible for delivering 5,000 tonnes of aid to Ukraine so far.
I really appreciate you guys coming out to events like this one and the Palestinian film at Broadway last month, so thank you to everyone who comes out. Looking forward to seeing you all there!
