JOYLAND

Details

Come along for our FREE screening of Joyland at the New Art Exchange on Thursday, 6th March, 6:30pm.

Joyland is a Pakistani film about Haider, a working-class man who lands work at a dance theatre and becomes infatuated with Biba, a confident transgender dancer. The film explores themes of gender, sexuality, and societal norms, offering a groundbreaking and empathetic portrayal of trans people in South Asian cinema.

Come early at 5 PM for a "Pay What You Can" Community Café, where you can enjoy a tasty Pakistani-inspired menu before the film at 6:30 PM!

This film is planned to compliment Sunil Gupta and Charan Singh's THE LOVERS, a photographic exhibition that celebrates LGBTQIA+ relationships over 40 years and the changing visibility of LGBTQIA+ communities today. This exhibition will be running from February 22nd to May 3rd.

RESERVE YOUR TICKETS HERE and learn more about the New Art Exchange's exhibition of Sunil Gupta and Charan Singh's THE LOVERS on their website.
