• Distance: 11.7km (7.3 miles if you’re old school)
• Ascent: ~725m
• Hiking time: 4 to 5hrs
• Cost: £5 (covers basic admin costs for Rambling Readers)
• Refunds: Payments are non-refundable and non-transferable.

📍 Meeting and Ending Point:
• Location: Buchanan Station, next to Greggs
• Time: Meet at 9:35am, leave just before 9:45am for the 9:50am bus to Luss Visitor Centre. Arrive at Luss Visitor Centre at 11am.
• Return: There is a bus back at 3:40pm, and another one at 5:40pm. Let's see what happens on the day! Luss has some additional trails, cafes and shops if we end up with time to kill.
NB: Schedules can be changeable so these will be checked again the day before the hike.

We're staying with the linguistic theme for our shorter read! This edition from Penguin's Modern Classic Series contains two essays first published in the 1960s. The first works of criticism to break down the boundaries between 'high' and 'low' culture, they became instant classics - and made Susan Sontag a literary sensation.
