Waterman's Road Circular 11.9km: March Hiking Book Club

**EARLY BIRD SIGN-UPS AVAILABLE UNTIL SUNDAY 1 MARCH**
🗺️ Key Info:
• Distance: 11.9km (7.4 miles if you’re old school) - plus an extra 10min walk between the station and the starting point
• Ascent: ~389m
• Hiking time: 3.5 to 4hrs
• Cost: £3 early bird, then £5 (covers basic admin costs for Rambling Readers)
• Refunds: Payments are non-refundable and non-transferable.
📍 Meeting and Ending Point:
• Location: Glasgow Central Station by the entrance to Accessorize
• Time: Meet at 10:35am, leave at 10:45am for the 10:50am train to Drumfrochar. Arrive at Drumfrochar station at 11:25am.
• Return: We expect to be back at Drumfrochar station by 3:30pm.

📖 The Book:

Set in 1979 Yorkshire during the Yorkshire Ripper terror, two young girls creates a list of suspicious people to try to solve the murders, and inadvertently uncover dark secrets and the town's hidden fears along the way.
📖 The Short Story:
• Hookers in the House of the Lord by Selma James
3 March is SW rights day, so we're picking a short booklet published by the English Collective of Pr*stitutes about the 1982 occupation of a church in King's Cross (just two years after the Ripper murders) to protest police brutality and racism.
🎒What to Bring:
• Hiking boots/shoes
• Waterproofs (ideally jacket and trousers)
• Packed lunch and snacks
• Water (1.5 litres minimum)
• Hat and gloves if cold
