About us
I am starting this group because I have lived in Overland Park for three years and have yet to make any friends that have similar interests as me. I attend many events around the Kansas City area, and would like to extend an invitation to anyone that is interested. This will group will start by me posting events that I am going to, and can grow to include new events based on feedback and new friends with different interests. In the meantime, it will focus on craft beer, non-profits, and animal welfare.

Run for Paws 5k @ Frontier Park
Frontier Park, 15501 Indian Creek Pkwy, Olathe, KS 66062, USA, Olathe, KS, USJoin us as we participate in the Run4Paws 5k benefitting the Lantz Tucker Memorial Fund. This is a relatively flat course through the park and Indian Creek Trail. Last year the weather was fantastic, so I'm hoping for the same. Another plus (for me and maybe you) is that this race starts at 9am, not earlier like most of the others.

A little bit about the event from the organization themselves:
Lantz Tucker Memorial Fund for pets is a special fund for pets who are in urgent need of medical care.
Imagine your beloved pet has a life threatening emergency, like being hit by a car, and urgently needs vet care or he may die. But, you recently lost your job and things are tight and you don’t have $1000+ for a vet bill, no matter how much you love your dog. Or you have a job, you work hard. You work full time and it's barely enough to cover the bills. What if your only choices were to let your pet die or surrender him to a rescue so he may live?
We help those pets, and their loving owners, so that the pet doesn’t die and the owners don’t have to surrender it to get it help. Our annual fundraiser, Run for Paws 5K will be October 10, 2026 at Frontier Park in Olathe! 100% of the money raised in our 7th annual Run for Paws 5K will be used to directly pay vets for the urgent and life saving medical care. Since opening in April of 2020, our little fund has donated over $400,000 and helped to keep 1006 pets in their homes, with the families who love them. We ask for nothing in return, and every single penny donated goes directly to vet bills.
This run is our only fundraiser, otherwise we operate 100% on donations. Please join us and help us to save even more lives!
