We’re excited to announce Hare-Brained, a new solo exhibition by Terrence Laragione, opening Friday, May 2nd at Mission in Arts.

For more than a decade, Laragione has returned to the recurring figure of “El Bunny,” a character first encountered on the streets of Kensington and born from equal parts observation, mystery, and obsession. What began as an attempt to document a real-world presence beneath the El has evolved into something far more psychological and symbolic.

Across the years, El Bunny has moved through shifting realms—street folklore, death, afterlife, and now the interior landscape of the artist’s own mind. In Hare-Brained, the figure becomes both subject and guide, leading viewers through a maze of memory, imagination, and personal mythology.

Blurring the line between autobiography and fiction, Laragione’s paintings transform an urban apparition into an enduring vessel for curiosity, fear, humor, and self-examination. The result is a body of work that is playful, haunted, and deeply human.

Join us Friday, May 2nd from 6-9pm for the opening reception and the debut of Hare-Brained at Mission in Arts.
