Varina Landlab

Join the ever resourceful Priscilla Erickson to check out one of the newest natural spaces in the area—the Varina LandLab. Since this is a relatively new space, it hasn't been birded much, so who knows what we will find! We will meet at the parking lot that is the default on Google Maps: https://maps.app.goo.gl/LBuzkLtEbbeA7SeH7. Note that you will pass another parking area on your way to this one—keep going to the lot located where Deep Bottom Road makes a 90-degree turn. Dress warmly as this is a wide-open space and any wind is going to make it feel extra chilly. We may move the cars to the other parking area partway through the trip depending on what we find. Plan to walk 1–2 miles on uneven trails with many holes and roots.

RAS trips are open to all, RAS membership is encouraged but not required, and unless the trip says otherwise, you don't need to sign up. Please feel free to stay for as long as you want. Attendees do not need to stay the entire time listed.
