Priscilla Erickson, RAS Field Trip Leader
Join splendid birder Priscilla Erickson at 7:30 am to check out the estuaries, riverfront, and forest for spring migrants and visit the Great Blue Heron rookery near the Visitor’s Center. York River SP is about an hour from Richmond and requires a daily $5 parking fee (bring cash for an honor system pay station) or annual parking pass. This trip may involve 2–3 miles of walking on trails that are steep and uneven in places.
Carpooling is highly encouraged.
Please email priscilla.erickson@gmail.com if you would like to carpool, with the general area of town you’ll be departing from. We will meet near the playground in the main parking lot (keep going until the road ends near the visitor center).
RAS trips are open to all, RAS membership is encouraged but not required, and unless the trip says otherwise, you don't need to sign up. Please feel free to stay for as long as you want. Attendees do not need to stay the entire time listed.
** The field trip schedule is subject to change. Trips may be added, canceled, or modified. Please check our RAS calendar online at richmondaudubon.org for the most recent trip information.
