What we’re about
With re:presented, we’re building a meetup series for software engineers, tech enthusiasts, and curious minds who want to explore technology through a wider range of perspectives.
Expect talks and panels on software engineering, architecture, cloud systems, and everything shaping our industry — with an emphasis on technical excellence, fresh ideas, and broader viewpoints. We believe that better conversations happen when more voices from our community are heard — and that diverse teams build better products, stronger companies, and a more vibrant tech industry.
Whether you're early in your career, leading teams, or somewhere in between, you'll find inspiring talks, real-world insights, and a welcoming community ready to exchange, learn, and grow together.
Our meetups take place across different venues in Vienna, prioritizing authentic exchange over perfect presentations. Come to learn, to connect, and to see what happens when more voices are re:presented.

Re:presented is a new meetup series for software engineers, tech enthusiasts, and curious minds eager to explore the world of technology through a more inclusive lens.
Our goal is to spotlight underrepresented voices and bring fresh perspectives to the way we build and experience technology.🎤 Talk: Accessible by Design – UX Research and Coding for Inclusive Applications
Our first event features an inspiring talk by Melanie Jacob, UX & Accessibility Lead at SQUER. As a UX generalist, Melanie draws from Arthur C. Clarke’s belief in pushing the boundaries of what's possible to drive human-centered innovation in product design.
This talk will explore how teams can build accessibility into their products from the start—not as an afterthought, but as a core design and engineering principle.
Expect deep insights from real-world UX research, hands-on code examples, and an open conversation about what accessible design means in practice.🎙️ Panel: Diverse Voices, Stronger Teams – Lessons in Representation
Our second event is a panel discussion featuring amazing voices who are shaping more inclusive, supportive team cultures from the inside out:- Sophie Rendl – Founder of frauendomaene.at, the expert database that has been making female expertise more visible since 2019.
- Barbara Ondrisek – Co-founder & CEO of Women And Code. Senior Software Engineer and public speaker with over 20 years of experience. Barbara is passionate about cats, breaking glass ceilings, and empowering others through code.
- Shahab Ganji – Lead Coding Architect at SQUER. A collaborative team player who champions inclusive leadership and values empathy, mentorship, and representation in tech.
The panel will explore what inclusive leadership looks like in action—and how individuals from underrepresented communities are driving meaningful change in their teams and workplaces.
