About us
Want to talk about what you’re reading but don’t want to be told what to read? This is the book club for you!
This book club is run by Casey, a librarian at the public library, but we meet around Nanaimo at different pubs/restaurants usually the last week of the month.
We have an optional list of reading prompts that some members are working through, with suggestions like "read a book in translation" or "read a wintery book." You can read any book that fits any prompt, whatever month you want. Then you can compare notes with bookish friends at our meetings! The idea is to have fun parameters to help you decide what to read next, but not to force you to read anything you don’t want to.
Don't forget to bring a book (or two!) with you to share with the group.
Appetizers to share will be provided by the library. If you’re able, we ask that you buy a drink or some food to support the restaurant for hosting us!
