Reading God’s Word Together

These are two letters that may often be overlooked. While brief, there are many concepts to glean as “Paul the aged” writes to these two men. Paul will speak on godly leadership and living, God’s grace, among many other things.

We want to see what Paul writes to these men. We are going to be reading and discussing the letters to Titus and Philemon. All are welcome. If you have a Bible, bring one. And if not, we will have a few extra. I’ll have an open Bible on the table. Please reach out with any questions!

Luke 24:44 - Jesus said to them, “These are My words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things which are written about Me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled.” Jesus was sinless. Jesus was selfless. Jesus was powerful. He also fulfilled all the prophecies about Him in the Old Testament. Our aim is to read and study the gospel account in Luke - we will see Jesus’ teaching, authority, love and power (among many other things).

“In those days there was no king in Israel; everyone did what was right in their own eyes” (Judges 21:25). This thought summarizes the end of the book of Judges and is the time period the book of 1 Samuel begins. In 1 Samuel, the people request a king and it begins the start of the united kingdom in Israel. We will see the kingship of Saul and David’s journey to be king. We are simply reading and discussing the book of 1 Samuel. All are welcome. If you can, bring a Bible or a device to read from. If not, we’ll have an extra. I’ll have an open Bible on the table.
