Introducing Harmony as an approach to health and wellbeing

Details

"In art, and in the higher ranges of science, there is a feeling of harmony which underlies all endeavour. There is no true greatness in art or science without that sense of harmony."
Albert Einstein

In his book, ‘Harmony: A New Way of Looking at Our World’, His Majesty King Charles "...tells the story of how our disconnection from Nature has contributed to the greatest crisis in the history of mankind and how seeking balance in our actions will return us to a more considered, secure, comfortable and cleaner world."

At this event we will explore the idea and principles of Harmony in relation to health and wellness, an approach based on exploring natural activities and nurturing the whole person rather than diagnosing and looking for cures based on individual symptoms.

Nature provides us with many essential tools to help rejuvenate our health and well-being, if only we knew how to connect to it and adjust with it. For example, we can learn from nature by becoming more aware of the interconnectedness of different systems within us and our natural cycles; we can adapt our diet to this rich-in-products season, and we will share some ideas of creative, autumnal recipes and ways to prepare for the upcoming winter. Using easily accessible, natural and sustainable herbs, spices and foods, we can satisfy all our six tastes while bringing balance to our organism.

As the summer recedes and autumn begins, we will learn how to best harness these natural changes around us for our optimum health. We will use techniques from a variety of complementary fields such as Ayurveda, Alexander Technique, Music and Rhythm. We will discover how our senses can be more finely tuned and how we can best utilise our own inner capacities in a more fluid, connected, enlivened harmonious way.
