Historic Highgate & Kenwood House – 31 July 2026
Location not specified yet### Book your place on our second visit in 2026 – 31st July is the date !
### Join us for another opportunity for another day out with a difference to one of the most fascinating locations in London!
We have had so many requests to repeat this visit, ….it truly offers a fascinating, rewarding and very interesting day out. This day out will be combined with a visit to the majestic Kenwood House, just 2 miles from Highgate for a very special day out…please book either the guided tour (fascinating) or self guide your way around
Highgate is a historic and unique place to visit. You can immerse yourself in the special atmosphere of this Victorian cemetery full of stunning Gothic architecture as you hear about its history and its permanent residents. With its sinuous paths winding up a steep wooded hill and ivy-clad monuments, Highgate Cemetery is a secluded funerary landscape at its most evocative.
The stories of Highgate Cemetery are as diverse as the people buried here. Some of them are well-known, some are being rediscovered, and others will remain untold. They can give us fascinating insights into the lives and habits of our predecessors, and food for thought about how we live our own lives. As well as a guided tour of the Gothic wonder that is Highgate West Cemetery, there is time to explore Highgate East, home to illustrious figures of the 19th century. Highgate is the final resting place of many eminent people including Karl Marx, Malcolm McLaren and George Michael.
After our local pick-ups, we arrive at Kenwood House around 11am when you can enjoy the next few hours getting to know one of London’s hidden gems. Situated on the edge of Hampstead Heath and surrounded by tranquil landscaped gardens, Kenwood’s breath taking interiors and stunning world-class art collection, which includes Rembrandt’s ‘Self-Portrait with Two Circles’, are waiting for you to enjoy. There’s a café to relax in and acres of grounds to stretch your legs, there are treats in store for every visitor. The short transfer to Highgate and guided tour with free time to explore after completes the day!
