https://gestingthorpehg.co.uk/blog/f/the-story-of-may-savidge

The journey of May Savidge is unique and astounding. On learning her home was to be demolished to make way for a new road, she dismantled and moved it brick by brick and timber by timber, from Ware in Hertfordshire to Wells next the Sea. After over 23 years of reconstructing this medieval hall house, May passed away aged 82. Leaving the house in trust, to her niece Christine Adams, to finish the project; Christine shares this remarkable story with a talk and then a tour of this wonderful house and the many stories during its life. A story so fascinating it’s already a book and in the process of being turned into a film! With time to explore a bit of Norfolk too!

Day 1: Travel to Cromer. Staying in the Hotel de Paris on half board basis. The hotel occupies the finest position in Cromer, overlooking the pier. A Talk by Christine Adams awaits you and you will be hooked to find out more!

Day 2: We visit Wells next the Sea and Ware Hall House. Due to capacity* in the house, there will be a morning tour and afternoon tour, with alternate time for exploration of this lovely little coastal town.

Day 3: Time to say farewell to Cromer but we intend to do a little more sightseeing on our return journey before reaching Kent!
