Film and Discussion Night is co-sponsored by Reason Center and Atheists and Other Freethinkers.

Movie nights are in person at our new Reason Center in Sacramento. We are at 1300 Ethan Way, Suite 675-B in the back corner of the building. We provide the popcorn, feel free to bring your own snacks as well. It may be a good idea to bring a lawn chair if you have one, just in case. The event is posted on other sites as well, so there may be more attendees than are listed on this group's page.

The actual movie is a secret, because of our MPLC License (https://www.mplc.org/page/the-umbrella-license) and the stodgy rule of law -- but we can slip you a hint. We also encourage a post-film discussion, which makes this educational, sort of.

Note: We are watching this on the 6th this month because on our regular date, the second Friday, our community has the Darwin Day Gala planned at the SMUD Museum of Science and Curiosity that evening and we encourage all to attend. Here you can learn all about it!

Our film this month is from 2013 and stars the late Chadwick Boseman, T.R. Knight, and Harrison Ford. The director was Brian Helgeland. From IMDB: In 1947, Jackie Robinson becomes the first African-American to play in Major League Baseball in the modern era when he was signed by the Brooklyn Dodgers and faces considerable racism in the process.

There is no fee to attend, but we do appreciate your donations to Reason Center.

Mark your calendar! We want to see you!
