From the smartphones in our pockets to the algorithms curating our news, technology has radically reshaped the way we live, think, relate, and create. But in a world of endless convenience and constant connection, we pause to ask: what are we gaining—and what might we be losing?
In this session of Refined Minds, we’ll explore how technology is shaping our identities, relationships, attention spans, creativity, and even our sense of self. We’ll reflect on how it’s helping us—and how it may be subtly reshaping us in ways we don’t always notice.
This won’t be a lecture or debate—it’s an open conversation. You don’t need to be a tech expert to join in. Just bring your thoughts, experiences, and curiosity.
Guiding Questions:
To get the conversation flowing, we may explore:
- How has a piece of technology meaningfully changed your life—for better or worse?
- Are we more connected—or more isolated—than we were 20 years ago?
- Has technology changed how we form friendships, fall in love, or raise children?
- What role should tech companies play in shaping culture and ethics?
- Do you feel your attention span has changed in the last decade?
- Is it still possible to live an “unplugged” life? Should we want to?
Optional prompt (no prep required):
Think of one technology (old or new) that you feel grateful for—and one you wish didn’t exist.
Who this is for:
Readers, thinkers, artists, technophiles, luddites, skeptics, dreamers—anyone curious about the human side of our evolving digital world.
