What we’re about
We’re an enthusiastic hands-on group active throughout Metro Vancouver who gather to remove invasive plants and replant native vegetation in our Regional Parks. Have fun, help the environment, make new friends, get some fresh air, and exercise in the great outdoors. Discover all our volunteer opportunities at Regional Parks Volunteer Opportunities.
We have a lot of parklands and we need help with it. With 22 regional parks, two ecological conservancy areas, three regional reserves and five greenways, Metro Vancouver Regional Parks provide vital habitat for countless plant and wildlife species.
Everyone is welcome. No experience is necessary.

Pacific Spirit Park Pando – Discovering the Park’s Lost Aspen Grove
Come join PSPS for a EcoWalk in Pacific Spirit Park led by Ryan Regier!
During this walk you will learn about Aspen Groves, one of Pacific Spirit Park's key preservation priorities, and what makes them so unique in this forest.Aspen Groves have been recently come to be understood as one single interconnected tree instead of individuals. On the walk we will talk about Pando, an Aspen Forest in Utah that is maybe the largest and oldest living being in the world.
The Pacific Spirit Park Pando has been forgotten since the 90s and most of the stems have died. However, our Pacific Pando is still surviving but now hidden in the forest around it. Come join this walk and help the Park Society count its living stems and try to put together the mystery of how old and large it is.
We will be meeting at the Huckleberry Trailhead at the corner of 16th and Imperial on Wednesday, July 23th. The walk will go from 5pm – 7pm.
Please RSVP to Join the EcoWalk!
