Come help plant native species along a sensitive riparian area at Crippen Regional Park!

This conservation zone provides vital habitat for a variety of waterfowl, songbirds, and both adult & juvenile salmonids.
Join us as we plant native tree and shrub species and install protective cages around them to support their successful establishment and increase the biodiversity along the slopes of this valuable riparian ecosystem!

We will provide you with all the information and tools needed for the work we will be doing. This includes eye protection and gloves, although if people prefer to use their own gloves they are welcome to do so. Please arrive dressed for the weather (rain or shine), in clothing that can get dirty, with appropriate footwear. Please bring water bottles and a snack if you tend to get hungry while working. We will provide light snacks and water for refilling water bottles.

A few things to note about the site:
• The site is a 10-minute walk from the Snug Cove Ferry Terminal.
• Those taking a ferry can board the 9:20AM sailing from Horseshoe Bay to Bowen Island and board the 12:35PM sailing off island (or stay and enjoy a Saturday on Bowen Island!).
• The site is in a public area, be mindful or sharp or hazardous litter.
• There is a washroom that's about a 10-15 minute walk from our worksite.

Help enhance Campbell Valley Regional Park by planting native vegetation along a new perimeter trail extension.

The vegetation will be planted on raised soil beds make digging easy. Families and community groups are welcome. We'll be joined by Scouts and the Girl Guides. Come join in the fun!

Metro Vancouver will provide work gloves and shovels. The event will run rain or shine, so please dress appropriately for the weather. Sturdy, close-toed footwear is required.

Parking will be along 8th Avenue. Be careful disembarking from vehicles. Please do not block neighboring driveways.

Come be a part of restoring a patch of forest in Pacific Spirit Regional Park by planting native species and spreading mulch across the site!

The Imperial Trail restoration site was once entirely covered invasive Himalayan blackberry. In 2023, site preparation included machine-removal of over 200yd3 of blackberry, laying over 800m2 of geotextile fabric, and fencing off the site. Over the last two years, volunteers have been maintaining the site by hand-removing Himalayan blackberry root-balls along the edges of the fabric. This year, we've removed the geotextile fabric and are planting over 1,200 native plant species at the site to improve forest conditions and increase biodiversity!

Join us as we continue planting and spreading mulch to help restore the health and resiliency of this forest ecosystem in Pacific Spirit Regional Park.

Where: Pacific Spirit Regional Park – Meet at the information kiosk near the Imperial Trail Public Washroom.

A few things to note about the site:
* There is parking on-site along W 29th Ave.
* The adjacent trail is frequented by cyclists and dog-walkers.
* There is a washroom at our meeting place. The worksite is a 3-minute walk from there. This will be the closest washroom during the event.
