Sorry for the late update this month, but its been a busy several weeks with clients and projects !

This month we are MOVING THE DATE AND VENUE for our May meeting this month, and we are putting our "money" where it counts... in support of Regular Angel members who are putting forward creative solutions for small business capital formation and development and making a difference in the healthcare market in a unique way...

So, we will NOT be holding our meeting tomorrow night at Archer Bay (May 15th), so update your calendars.

INSTEAD...

...We are putting together a "real world field trip" to "get out of the meeting room and into the marketplace !!" So we are moving our meeting date out two weeks to the end of the month and will be holding it in conjunction with the Rockies Venture Club "Cannabis Capital Summit" that is being held on May 29th at the Mile High Station in Denver.

The event starts at 8am and runs all day to 7PM.

The Agenda for our Regular Angels Meeting will be...

1. Introducing the Formation of The Miracle Ventures Fund, a new Healthcare Venture Fund to Pursue Alternative Healthcare Solutions with a focus on identifying, developing, and nurturing breakthrough Colorado-based companies who are expanding the horizons of Health, Wellness, Alternative Medicines and Treatments, and healthy eating and living.

2. Introducing the Venture Development Cluster for Alternative Healthcare, a focused business development ecosystem to help expand the growth and use of Alternative Medicines, as well as the further development of Hemp and CBD Oils for Healthcare through the development of leading-edge research in products, processes, and production that takes Hemp from the field to the forefront of optional healthcare choices for consumers.

3. Round Table Discussion on the Business, Banking, Legislative, and Commercial Challenges and Opportunities in Colorado for developing the HEMP and CBD marketplace.

What is CBD ?

If there's a marijuana-related compound you've heard of, it's likely Tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC.

THC is what makes you high and the reason most recreational users partake. What most don't know is the medicinal value of the plant comes mostly from a different source: cannabidiol. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cannabidiol)

Cannibidiol (CBD) is a non-psychoactive component of marijuana that possesses a wide range of therapeutic benefits. When present in high quantities, CBD enhances THC's positive effects while negating many of the negatives. It's clear both cannabanoids coexist in the plant for a reason, often acting synergistically.

The problem is growers realized decades ago that THC is what sells; it provides the floating, euphoric feeling people associate with marijuana. In order to enhance THC content, CBD has been bred out of many strains, leaving users with a highly psychoactive experience but not necessarily the healthiest, especially for those with preexisting mental disorders.

Thankfully, the objective of growers is beginning to change. Recent research suggests CBD is the most important part of the plant and growers/medical dispensaries have increased their focus on high-CBD strains, oils, edibles and tinctures.

Here are some things that should prompt us to give CBD a much closer look...

CBD reverses alcohol-induced brain damage.

CBD is a very effective treatment option for severe social anxiety.

CBD "turns off" the cancer gene found in metastasis.

CBD is a potent anti-psychotic medicine.

That's right! in the USA you can have a CBD-infused product sent to your home safely and legally. CBD is consumed in a variety of forms including oil, tinctures, edibles, capsules, lotion and even chewing gum.
