Reigate, Redhill & Caterham Language Café

This is for those who just want to enjoy practising their spoken French in an informal way online and is open to all levels.

This event will be facilitated by a French native speaker. £7 contribution please.

These are very enjoyable social occasions - the aim is communication, not perfection.

If you would like to improve your Spanish*, grab a coffee and come and explore all things Spanish in this friendly and supportive group.

We always start with a conversation or speaking activity. After that we have different themes, which may be topic or a language-based. You will get useful handouts (PDFs) so you can look again at many of the topics. We are just finishing a theme about irritation and complaints. Next theme will be about eating and autoimmune disorders!

If 3 people attend (the minimum number) the contribution is £10 each. If 4 people attend it is £7.50 each.

*To make the most of the group you will already have some knowledge of present, future and past tenses, and be able to attempt a short conversation.

Deadline for RSVP: 12 noon Tuesday. Link is sent out after deadline, with confirmation of the contribution level. Payment should be made between receiving the link and the start of the meeting. If you are new to this group, I will contact you to arrange a short meeting to give you payment details and familiarise you with Zoom if you haven't used it before. Please respond before the deadline for RSVPs, as we need to meet in time for your payment to be made.

Come and practise your German conversation skills over a coffee/drink or a sandwich/pub lunch in a relaxed and supportive atmosphere in a private, well-ventilated room:”The Stevens Room” at a friendly pub near Redhill train and bus stations: "The Home Cottage". In the daytime on weekdays you can normally park fairly easily (free of charge) for up to two hours in the little roads around the pub. Alternatively, the car park in the Belfry shopping centre in the centre of Redhill is relatively inexpensive: www.redhillbelfry.co.uk
NB this event will last for 90 minutes, but feel free to arrive late or to leave early if you need to.

This Meetup® event is for anyone with at least a basic conversational level of German. Perhaps you did some German at school, have been learning German by self-study or like to go to German-speaking countries for holidays and would like to gain further confidence in a supportive conversation group? If so, this event is for you! (This conversation event is not suitable for complete beginners).

We also welcome to this event any German native speakers who would like to practise their English or who would simply like to socialise in their native language with people who live or work locally who enjoy speaking German. If you're a German native speaker this event will be free of charge for you.

The group is facilitated by a qualified, experienced teacher of German and English. £5 contribution please.
