Universe: OpenAI Reinforcement Learning framework

Speaker: Dario Amodei is a Research Scientist at the OpenAI, a non-profit artificial intelligence research company founded by Greg Brockman, Ilya Sutskever, Elon Musk, and Sam Altman. Its mission is to build safe AI, and ensure AI’s benefits are as widely and evenly distributed as possible.

He is a major contributor to OpenAI Universe (https://universe.openai.com/) project. Universe is a platform which allows training of AI agents on any task that can be performed on a computer, including flash games, browser tasks such as flight booking, and complex games such as Starcraft or Kerbal Space Program.

Prior to OpenAI, Dario was a Senior Research Scientist at Google, as a deep learning researcher on the Google Brain team. He was a Research Scientist at Baidu Research, working on problems in deep learning and AI, including speech recognition and natural language processing.

He has a PhD in Computational Neuroscience from Princeton University. His dissertation was awarded Hertz Doctoral Thesis Prize, 2012.
