A practical session for making difficult conversations a little easier

Details

Greater autonomy in teams requires deeper levels of trust and openness. If we want new ways of working to work, we need to upgrade our relationships. But how do we do that?

Research shows that micro-moves can make a big difference. In this session, we'll practise the 'Pebbles Conversation'; a micro-move that helps resolve minor irritations before they have a chance to grow into bigger relationship issues. We'll also discuss the mindset and skills needed to create healthy, adult-to-adult relationships around you.

Whether you are conflict avoidant, don't feel confident having 'difficult conversations', or just want to improve your skills, this session will give you the chance to try out something new, get some self-insights and explore together generative ways of engaging with conflict.

The session will be facilitated by Trevor Hudson from Tuff Leadership Training drawing on twenty years' experience of supporting people to break the hierarchical dynamic and cultivate co-leadership.

Is this session for you?

  • Our purpose is to connect and share ideas with others who are actively practising decentralised and progressive ways of working.
  • We also welcome those starting their new ways of working journey and ask that they read up on the session topic beforehand.
  • Sessions are participatory with opportunities to discuss, question and reflect on the topic at hand, to deepen our collective learning.
