What we’re about
Remake The Rules is a space for thoughtful people navigating modern decision-making in a world full of noise, tools, systems, and overwhelm. Led by Emily Pabst, ChoiceTech Consultant and Coach, these gatherings explore how we make decisions—big and small—when we’re inundated with input, options, and outdated advice.
This space is for slowing down, thinking clearly, and exploring new ways forward.
If you're:
-Tired of burnout cycles and app fatigue
-Stuck between too many options and not enough movement
-Doing everything "right" but still feeling off
-Curious about decision-making, tech design, or systemic pressure
…you’ll feel at home here.
We cover topics like choicetech, decision fatigue, app dysfunction, information overwhelm, choice overload, hybrid human-tech systems, choice inflation, and more—through real talk and simple frameworks that meet you where you are.

Let's Talk: Choice Inflation
BarFly at the Alamo, 4255 W Colfax, Denver, CO, USWe live in a world where decisions never seem to stop—what to watch, what to buy, which app to use, how to lead at work. Tools designed to “help” us choose often make things more complicated, not less. Between choicetech (the systems that shape our options), choice inflation (the sheer volume of decisions we face), and decision fatigue (the exhaustion that follows), it’s no wonder so many of us feel stretched thin.
This small group discussion, hosted by Remake The Rules, is a space to explore how these forces show up in daily life—at work, at home, and everywhere in between—and what it means to navigate choices in a world that rarely slows down.
Join for a thoughtful conversation about the costs of constant decision-making, the disappearance of old defaults, and how we might remake the rules for ourselves.
Possible prompts:
– Where do you feel the weight of too many choices most clearly?
– When has decision fatigue shaped a choice you made (or avoided)?
– Which old defaults do you miss, and which are you glad are gone?
– How does choicetech (apps, platforms, algorithms) make your decisions easier—or harder?
– What small habits or defaults help you preserve your energy?Curious how choicetech, choice inflation, and decision fatigue shape your everyday life?
Ahead of our upcoming conversation, you’re invited to read this short piece from Remake The Rules, Choicetech, Choice Inflation, and the Disappearing Defaults of Modern Life.
It explores how these forces feed into one another, transform our relationship to information, and change what it means to decide well in modern life.Read it before the meetup—or just come with curiosity.

BarFly at the Alamo, 4255 W Colfax, Denver, CO, USThis is a relaxed social gathering for people who are navigating modern life, dating, careers, creativity, decision-making—whatever—with a mix of curiosity, burnout, and “what even is going on anymore.”
Whether you’re new to Denver, new to decision overwhelm, or just tired of being smart and stuck at the same time—come hang out.
Based on some wonderful feedback from past events, I'll be instituting a little more structure to these meetups so folks can better meet and learn about each other as well as find folks who might be figuring out similar questions.
6:00 - come say hi, sign in, fill out a name tag (to include what decision you've been laboring over lately), grab food or drink from the bar, and say hello to some fellow attendees.
6:30 - introductions - we'll go one-by-one introducing ourselves and sharing the decision we're figuring out.
7:00ish - Mingle, chat, and brainstorm with the folks and the figuring you resonated with.Hosted by Remake The Rules.
