Looking for something fun, creative, meaningful, or simply a reason to get out of the house and connect with other people?

Reno Create, Connect & Explore is a community for adults who want to meet new people, try new things, learn useful skills, and build genuine human connection in a relaxed, low-pressure setting.

Our meetups will be different from week to week.

One week we might create an art project. Another week we may learn simple self-soothing practices, play communication games designed to build empathy and connection, make a small book, experiment with painting,

watch a movie together, meet for lunch, or take a walk around the lake.

Some gatherings will focus specifically on communication and connection. We may use conversation cards, cooperative games, or guided activities that help people practice listening, expressing themselves safely, understanding different communication styles, and getting to know people beyond ordinary small talk.

The goal is not to force vulnerability or put anyone on the spot.

It is simply to create more opportunities for people to feel seen, heard, comfortable, and connected.

Some of our gatherings may include:
Art and creative projects
Painting and mixed-media activities
Bookmaking and creative writing
Communication and empathy-building games
Conversation-card activities
Listening and communication skills
Activities designed to reduce loneliness and encourage connection
Butterfly Hug and other self-soothing practices
Calming hand mudras and relaxation techniques
Movies and film discussions
Walks around Reno's parks and lakes
Lunches, coffee, and casual social gatherings
Learning new creative or practical skills
Special workshops led by members or local guests

You do not need to be an artist, an expert, particularly outgoing, or great at meeting new people.

You can come alone.

In fact, people who would like more connection in their lives are especially welcome.
Most gatherings will be inexpensive and held in community spaces around Reno such as libraries, parks, cafés, and other welcoming locations.

Typical meetup fee: around $10 per person, depending on the activity. Some events may be free, while activities requiring art materials or special supplies may cost a little more.

The purpose of this group is simple:
Create things. Learn things. Talk. Listen. Connect. Have fun.
This is not about being perfect at anything.

It is about curiosity, creativity, empathy, friendship, and giving ourselves something enjoyable and meaningful to look forward to.
