About us
A group for fans and lovers of scientific method in the Boston area to discuss science gone astray and how to get it back on track.
Have you always been curious about how science builds knowledge? If you are a scientist, how have you met the challenge of data that is hard to gather, an experiment that is hard to repeat, or an analysis that doesn't come out the same way each time? If you are a science fan, have you ever found reasons to doubt a scientific claim or authority you encounter?
And what is the future of the scientific method now? Science is a human endeavor, advanced by people sometimes under pressure to support a story that keeps their paychecks coming.
We want to bring a human understanding of the challenges of science into everyday life and conversation. We meet for dinner or drinks and snacks approximately monthly in the Davis Sq., Somerville area.
