What we’re about
Restoration is a church that exists to restore people to the wonder of Christ, the church to the world, and the community to wholeness and healing. We are a church where all are welcome - and one where "all" means "all."
Something we like to say at Restoration is "you be you." Whether a believer or doubter, been in church all your life, out of church for a while or never been to church; whether a long time member or a first time guest, you be you. We seek to be an authentic expression and experience of Jesus Christ in this world. Our hope is that people discover their true whole selves in Jesus Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit.
We are an inclusive church because we believe that God's love is inclusive. All races, ethnicities, abilities, gender identities and orientations are welcome to participate in the life of the church and service to the world.
Finally, we seek to be not just another church. We are committed to serve the community the love of God through synergistic partnerships. We do this with organizations local to Reston and throughout the world.

See all- Listening Session: Reimagining Church and Building CommunityReston Community Center Hunters Woods, Reston, VA
In a time when it’s easy to speak past one another, what would it look like to create a Christ-centered community where everyone is welcome, loved, and heard?
That’s the vision we’re exploring with a new kind of gathering: Dinner Church.
Before we launch anything official, we’re inviting neighbors, friends, skeptics, and seekers to sit around the table with us and help shape what Dinner Church could become. This listening session over dinner is about just that—listening. No preaching. No persuading. Just real conversation, real food, and real community.
We want this to be more than just our vision—we want it to be something that responds to the real hopes, needs, and dreams of the people who live here. Help us by sharing your thoughts and stories.
So—what is a Dinner Church?
It’s exactly what it sounds like: church around a dinner table. Inspired by the earliest Christian communities—who gathered for meals, prayer, and storytelling—we’re exploring how Jesus might show up today through shared food, open hearts, and authentic connection. Our vision is Christ-centered, but always spacious enough to welcome people from all walks of life. Like BreadBreakers - another community by Restoration Church - we want Dinner Church to be a space for dialogue that bridges differences.
Here's how the listening session will work:
We’ll share a meal and some guided conversation in a relaxed, no-pressure environment. No preaching or worship will occur. We’ll reflect together on questions like:
- What are the needs and challenges facing our community right now? What are our hopes for our community?
- What stories or experiences shape your view of church—or your decision to stay away?
- What would make a spiritual space feel truly welcoming, meaningful, and worth coming back to?
We know church has been a complicated—and sometimes painful—experience for many. If that’s your story, we want you to know this: you are not alone, and we want to hear from you. Your voice matters deeply in this conversation.
Whether you’re churched, de-churched, spiritual but not religious, or just here for the food—this is your seat at the table.
Join us, bring a friend, and help co-create a community that feeds more than just our stomachs.
🧡 This is an LGBTQ-affirming space. All are welcome, just as they are.
Space is limited, so RSVP soon to claim your seat.
(And yes—dinner’s on us.)
