What we’re about
Resume workshops are free and all are welcome. The purpose is to inspire and energize participants by introducing insights and expertise that expand possibilities to showcase strengths, talents, and capabilities within the resume format. Attendees will leave eager to apply new ideas and with greater confidence in taking next steps toward preparing a resume that engages reviewers and leads to more interviews. The leader is an expert in preparing resumes, cover letters, and related presentations. The format is informal to allow sharing tips and reactions among people in the group. Attendees' resumes are critiqued at the workshops as time allows. Reviewing resumes as a group demonstrates ideas ranging from novel to traditional that may be adopted to strengthen participants' career change searching.

•OnlineYour Resume Got You "In": Now Build Momentum Throughout the Next Phase
Onlinehttps://us02web.zoom.us/j/87904152882/
We will discuss ways to reinforce strengths reviewers found in your resume that prompted their interest in learning more about you. Basic items external to your resume top the list: Cover Letter, References, and Work Samples. Added to the mix are online postings and stories you have readied for interviewers’ questions. You may also prepare an “Ask Me About” page that starts conversations and leads to meaningful discussions. A mission Statement and annotated Capabilities Summaries can also supplement your resume. In addition, LinkedIn offers opportunities to reinforce your positive impression including the Background image behind your Headshot, the Headline beneath your photo, and the About section. Job candidates can attach their write-ups to emails, add links, and include elements in thank you notes. Skillful use of these additions helps build a robust image of you and improves your chances of receiving a job offer. As always, we will adapt our discussion to the priorities and interests of participants. Please bring questions, ideas, and tips to share.Let's inspire and strengthen each other with our insights. The themes that drive resume effectiveness include showing your strengths, emphasizing problems you can solve, and highlighting your potential to add value. You will learn to include challenges you have met and accomplishments that have achieved goals. Attendees typically raise questions about handling work gaps and transitioning to a new industry, new level, new job function, new degree/certification, and more.

OnlineJoin Us on Zoom: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/85811359139
Are you frustrated with the pace of your interview invitations and job offers? Would you like to get more activity? We will examine a proven model of steps to move through the stages of any selling cycle: Opportunity, Engagement, Eagerness, and YES! As we examine these four stages in the context of job searching, we will discuss the inner workings of the process: (1) OPPORTUNITY: Being visible to HR, recruiter, or influencer. This task entails passing the applicant tracking filters, leveraging relationships, and initiating connections. (2) ENGAGEMENT depends on resume layout for quick impact, your credibility factors, clarity concerning your value, stickiness of value elements, and high relevance. (3) EAGERNESS entails confirming your match to a job, fitting the culture of a team, relying on connections that count, suggesting solutions that solve problems, and your overall fit to the company and team. (4) YES! Commitment and closure benefit from asking good questions, understanding the offer, negotiating skillfully, and onboarding. As always, we will discuss the priority interests of participants.Let's inspire and strengthen each other with our insights.
