What we’re about
Retired & Restless is for women 50+ who aren’t done exploring. Maybe you didn’t plan on retiring, maybe you’re restless for something new — either way, this is your social playground to try things out, make friends, and have some fun.
Some of our friends and neighbors seem to be whoopin’ it up — traveling, golfing, living the “perfect retirement dream.” But if that’s not your reality (or not what you even want), it can feel awkward and a little lonely. They don’t always understand us — and sometimes we don’t understand ourselves either.
This group is for those of us in the in-between: not fully retired in spirit, not sure we want to go back to work, and definitely not ready to sit still. It’s a no-gossip, no-griping zone where we focus on authenticity, laughter, and trying things out. Think of it as a social laboratory — a safe place to experiment with new activities, ideas, and connections — fueled by coffee, curiosity, and maybe a splash of wine.
Do any of these sound familiar?
You didn’t want to be laid off or retired, but the prospects of finding another corporate job look grim.
You’re not even sure you want to stay retired — your productivity brain still craves goals and structure. You sense that time is short and want to spend it meaningfully, but that same productivity brain (and a lifetime of Good Worker Syndrome) sometimes hijacks your creativity. You even catch yourself scrolling job boards after deciding you don’t actually want to go back.
You have too much time in your head and not enough connection.
Unstructured days sometimes feel more overwhelming than freeing.
You’re retired while your partner is still working — and the imbalance feels awkward.
It can also feel lonely if we’re not out there “whoopin’ it up” in retirement like some friends and neighbors. They don’t understand us, and sometimes we don’t understand ourselves either.
You want to try new things or hobbies, but starting alone can be intimidating.
You’re grateful for free time, but also restless for purpose, fun, and community.
You’re wondering if this is the moment to finally start a business or passion project — but you’d like encouragement and fresh ideas to get it moving.
If any of these strike a chord — welcome. You’re not alone, and you don’t have to figure it out by yourself.

Playful Experimenting: From improv to pickleball, book clubs to brainstorming sessions — we try things on for size. Nothing too serious, just curiosity and courage.
Positivity: Focusing on possibility, not pity.
Ideas & Collaboration: Exploring hobbies, side projects, social experiments, giving back, or even small business ideas.
Fun & Comfort: Cards, coffee, trivia, book club, improv, music, walks, dinners — sometimes just a good laugh over wine.
Courage: Taking baby steps out of our comfort zones together, so things feel less scary and more exciting.
Tools for Today: (Optionally) Leveraging AI for connection, fun, and productivity — simple, practical ways to make life easier and opportunities more accessible.
Spiritual Curiosity: Exploring spirituality and consciousness as part of the bigger questions we face on this journey.
Retired & Restless is about turning this stage of life into an opportunity — to explore, to play, to experiment, and most of all, to not do it alone.
