Details

The Rhode Island Land Trust Council is posting this event on behalf of the South Kingstown Land Trust. For this event, SKLT requires that you register directly with them. Registration on Meetup does not confirm your attendance. Please register here!

Kick off our potluck and lecture series with Russ Cohen on October 21st! Bring a dish to share, enjoy good company, and settle in for an engaging presentation.

About the Lecture: Rhode Island is home to countless native plants—but what about the non-native weeds and invasives already thriving here? Join wild edibles expert and author Russ Cohen (Wild Plants I Have Known…and Eaten) for a lively slide presentation featuring more than two dozen tasty non-native plants found right here in the Ocean State.

From familiar species like daisies and dandelions to the lesser-known Asiatic dayflower, Russ will share tips on identification, edible parts, seasonal availability, preparation methods, and guidelines for safe, responsible foraging.
