Hike Description:
Pulaski Park is located in Glocester, RI close to the RI/CT state line. This hike is a mix of the Pulaski Park hike and the Walkabout Trail hike from Ken Weber's "Weekend Walks in Rhode Island. The hike will begin and end at the Pulaski Park beach and pass through the George Washington WMA.
We will be taking a ~ 5.5 mile hike through the park and the adjoining WMA. The hike should take roughly 3 hours to complete.
The route we will be following is a mix of wide paths and single-track trails. There are some small hills, but overall the terrain is easy/moderate. There will be muddy trails and maybe a couple of water crossings. Bring water, snacks, and bug spray. A minimum of 1.0 liter of water is mandatory for this hike.
Directions: Pulaski Park is located off Rt 44, just east of the RI/CT state line. Head west on Rt 44 from Chepachet going past the George Washington Campgrounds and Bowdish Reservoir. Then turn right off of Rt 44 at the sign for the park, which will have you driving on Pulaski Road. The entrance road to the park will be on your right and continue straight on the entrance road until you come to the large parking area at the beach.
