Description:

Mass Audubon's Broad Meadow Brook Wildlife Sanctuary in Worcester is the largest urban wildlife sanctuary in New England, with over 400 acres cooperatively managed or owned by Mass Audubon. Interpretive signs will guide you along well-marked trails through woods, fields, streams, and marsh. The center also serves as the visitor site for the National Park Service’s Blackstone River Valley National Heritage Corridor. Plenty of wildlife exists in this space, and there is a good chance we we see wildlife scurrying around.
The trails feature a few hills as they wind through the woods. The hills are not large but provide some good exercise. We will also trek through grasslands, along marshes and rivers, all within the city of Worcester.

A pair of hiking boots are strongly suggested with the rocky trails.
Please, no jeans, cotton, or sneakers. Wear DryTek or similar.

water (at least a liter) is required, and bring snacks along for the trail. We will have a few opportunities to stop for a break.

The day will be sunny with temps in the 60s-70s to start. Let's hike an Audubon preserve!

Bug Spray- bring it!
