Description:

This is a hike in the Beach Pond area of Arcadia. We will be hiking trails on both the north and south sides of Rt 165. We will meet in a relatively new parking lot for hikers located just east of Beach Pond. The large lot at the pond's boat launch is restricted to boaters. Group size will be limited because of the limited parking.

The distance is ~6 miles and will take about 3 hours.

The route we will be following is a mix of wide paths, and single-track trails. There are some small hills, but the terrain is moderate. Bring water & snacks. A minimum of 1.0 liters of water is mandatory for this hike.

Directions

From Providence: Take I-95 south to exit 5A, (Rt. 102 south). At the merge of Rt. 102 and Rt. 3, take Rt. 3 south. Continue on Rt. 3 south for another mile to the next stop light at the intersection of Rt. 3 and Rt. 165. Turn right at the light onto Rt. 165 west. Follow Rt. 165 west for about 6.75 miles, until you approach Beach Pond. Park in the lot on the right side of the highway, at the top of the hill before the road descends to the pond.
