Join us on the water for a unique night paddle to catch July’s Full Buck Moon from Bristol Harbor. Because this mid-summer moon sits low in the sky, it will cast a long, bright reflection across the water, and the harbor’s open layout gives us a great view of the eastern horizon. Please note this event is weather and cloud permitting.

Timing: Please arrive at least 15–30 minutes before the start time so you have plenty of time to unload/pump up, and be in the water ready to paddle at our scheduled start.

Participants must:

  • Have some prior SUP experience and have at least basic paddling proficiency.
  • Be able to get back up on your board independently in open water if you fall off.
  • Bring your own equipment: Board, paddle, leash, and the following safety gear: a whistle and a USCG-approved PFD (Personal Flotation Device). Per Rhode Island DEM law, it must be worn on your body while underway, not strapped to your board. (Note: I have a few extra whistles for the first few people who need one, but please bring your own if you have it!)

⚠️ Safety & Liability Disclaimer: Stand-up paddling is an outdoor sport with inherent risks, including the potential for serious injury or death. While Rhode Island Stand Up Paddle (RISUP) prioritizes safety, we cannot guarantee your personal well-being on the water. By participating, you accept that your safety is YOUR responsibility. Furthermore, ensuring you have the proper experience, fitness level, and gear is also entirely YOUR responsibility. Please reach out to the event host prior to launch if you have any questions or concerns.
