RI Sustainable Adventures

So, we're halfway through the summer, and I've been thinking about how my favorite roads trips aren't boring. They are fun, and what better way to make a road trip fun than to learn shortform improv games at a library workshop for free?

So, on Thursday. July 30th, from 6 to 730 PM, at the Woonsocket Public Library, we will be playing shortform games you can play in the car, on a travel break, and with family/friends in tight places! You'll learn how to adapt them for the environment, and how to put some fun into your car ride.

You can register through this event listing and also at our Eventbrite listing. We hope this provides multiple options for people who might be interested in attending, but cannot afford Meetup membership fees.

Since improv is a creative space, there is room for a lot of good choices, and potential for some accidental and/or unwanted ones, so here are some expectations that all participants should be aware:
Be Respectful, No Verbal or Physical Harassment
Avoid Unwanted Physical Touch
No Blue Humor/Discriminatory Behavior
No Sexual, Physical, or Verbal Harassment

Before the workshop, we will conduct a check-in with people, and a boundaries check-in. This discussion will give the group a chance to better understand what the group expectations are. I appreciate your patience, kindness, and consideration in this aspect of the workshop!

We live in a day and age where all of the information is available to us. We can find solutions anywhere.

Have you ever read that sentence before in some other post? The challenge is that it starts
with "We." In a society where loneliness is increasing, it feels more like "you or I."

So, this workshop will be utilizing teamwork games and creative practices together to solve problems we will pick. They might be silly problems or real ones, but the plan is for attendees to leave this workshop with tools that will help you, and us, create innovative, inspirational, and awesome solutions!

Sometimes, our bodies want to do a thing, but would like to do it sitting down. Well, if you like improv, and have a body that needs to sit, this workshop is great for you!

We will play games designed for seated play, and use our minds and creativity to generate
laughter and joy. This workshop is designed for, and welcome to, anyone who would like to have fun while having a seat!

You can sign up through Meetup or a followup Eventbrite listing. 8 spots for each website are allowed. This is to allow non-Meetup friends to attend.
