Spanish Elegance: A Ribera del Duero Blind Wine Tasting
Details
When people think of Spanish wine, Rioja often comes to mind first — but nearby Ribera del Duero is a region wine lovers shouldn’t overlook, especially if you appreciate elegance with depth. Its more extreme climate — longer winters, hot summers with big day–night temperature swings, and lower rainfall — produces smaller grapes with higher tannins, giving wines deeper color, bold structure, and beautifully concentrated fruit. The region’s diverse, predominantly loamy soils (a mix of clay, sand, and silt) add further nuance and complexity.
Join us to explore a delicious array of wines from Ribera del Duero and discover just how captivating this region can be.
Please bring:
- A bottle of Ribera del Duero wine in the $20-$30 range (Be sure to look for the words "Ribera del Duero" on the label.)
- A plain, brown paper wine bag (the kind they give you at the shop when you buy your wine. If you have a few extras, please bring them too.)
- 4 wine glasses
- Optional: a snack to share
