About us
Where can you find other people who will watch sci-fi movies with you? Or go to exhibits at the science museum, Science On Tap, or The Dome? What if you want to go tubing or hiking, and you bore other people by talking about quantum mechanics or how Star Wars isn't really sci-fi? Why not hang out with people who don't get bored by that stuff? We won't judge you if you don't know who Carl Sagan is. But you will be required to learn at some point.
The only rules are 1) no pseudoscience (we're all bringing our bologna detectors), and 2) be nice. If you're into data science for the purpose of marketing, money making, or conquering humanity, this probably isn't the group for you. But if data science means cancer research, come on in.

City Nature Challenge 2027
Location not specified yetThis is a tentative date and time. We don't have the exact date yet. Richmond's entry in the global bioblitz, run with the Science Museum of Virginia, Maymont, Lewis Ginter, James River Park System, Pocahontas State Park, VCU, and Virginia Master Naturalists as partners. Everyone documents species on iNaturalist over four days; city competes against other cities worldwide.
We will get together somewhere and look for living things and document them. Maybe Bryan Park. Our biology nerds will have the say on this one. If you're a bioblitz-adjacent nerd, feel free to DM Rob and give him ideas and your rationale at any time.
