THE GREAT RIVER RACE in Richmond. Bring a picnic!

Details

Hello Richmond Socialites

Let's do this again as it was highly enjoyable last year.

The Great River Race is London’s River Marathon. It’s a spectacular boat race covering 21.6 miles from Millwall in the East to Richmond in the West, travelling under London’s famous bridges. It’s a great fun day out for both competitors and spectators!

A colourful celebration of around 300 boats of all shapes and sizes will take part. Crews from the UK are joined by competitors from a range of other European countries, as well as America and Australia.

The Great River Race is now a charitable trust run by volunteers and with over 2,500 competitors competing for 37 trophies, it has become the biggest and most prestigious event of its kind in Europe.

Please join me on the sloping grass banks by the river in Richmond to cheer the boats as they pass through on their way to finish in Ham. Bring food, drinks and something to sit on.

If you sign up and don't turn up you will be marked as a No Show.
Three No Shows then MeetUp removes you from this group.

We will be on the top grass to the right of the Brindisa restaurant. There will be no shade.

More details nearer the time. Have a great summer!

Sarah
