Night Photography at FALLING SPRINGS waterfall--near Covington, VA

Yes, a full moon should nicely illuminate the waterfalls while simultaneously affording an excellent opportunity to create perfect, concentric circles around the North Star. I have never seen a photo of this drive-up-and-shoot spectacular waterfalls taken at night. If there is one, I have not seen it. No hiking required.

Note that this event will be available to the first SIX to sign up (five plus myself equals six). Others will be wait-listed--in the event some may have to cancel. I will be available to assist those who have limited experience at night and wish to learn how to shoot start trails. For those who sign-up, you must have a 14-24mm zoom OR prime lens (12-20mm) within that range. The goal is to capture both the falls AND the north star, so ultra-wide is essential. Other essential equipment is a tripod.

It will take approx. 4 hours (with stops) to get to our location. Return is another 4 hours. Please consider driving and taking a passenger or two.

I am open to consider staying overnight on the 23rd and returning the 24th. Why? We could also plan to shoot the Humpback Covered Bridge during the day--or anything else someone may know about in this geographic area. We could share rooms and save on expenses.

As time draws near for departure, we will establish a meet up place and time.

In the event of bad weather, I will re-schedule--before or later than the planned date--as appropriate.
