Short Challenging hike up Mt. Tom & maybe a Sunset

Details
Time 7:30pm CT 8:30pm ET
This is a new-ish route, similar in intensity to the Two Dunes Challenge.
We'll go over the Devil's Slide, then walk along the beach to trail 8. This is a rather steep sand slope that goes all the way nearly 200 ft up to the top of Mt Tom. From there the view is great. From there it is easier-- we go down stairs, and across to trail 7, back to the nature center, then across mostly paved paths through the campground back to the start.
We should get back to the parking lot in time to linger and watch the sun go down if the clouds cooperate.

Difficulty:
Challenging. The total distance is just under 2 miles, climbing steep slopes of loose sand. This is one of the toughest trail in the area, but it is short. It is a real workout. But the views are great!
