Coffee Creek Hike & Farmers Market

We will meet at 6 pm CT/7 ET at the southeast (sun is to the west, nursing home is to the north) corner of the Farmer’s Market tents nearest to the pond (look for the group of people). The Coffee Creek Farmer’s Market moved from the Sidewalk Road parking lot to the Nursing Home Parking lot and there is ample free parking. We will check out the Farmer’s Market and then head toward the pond to hike at 6:30 pm. If you’re new to the group or hiking trails this is a good intro hike. You’ll see the Farmer’s Market tents from Hwy 49. We’ll return to our cars by about 8:00.

Today’s hike terrain is mostly flat and will be at an easy pace. You can choose your distance based on the length you’d like (see link to map below) and turn around on the well marked trail if you’d like.

We will wait at intersections for the rest of the group. Part of the hike today is wheelchair accessible, and the various surfaces are identifiable on the trail map https://www.coffeecreekpreserve.org/uploads/2/5/2/2/25229001/coffee_creek_preserve_map.jpg.

Bring some water. The entire preserve is a no smoking area.

We will cross the first bridge by the pond and head northeast. We will make a brief restroom stop, then continue.

One of the features is an abundance of deer, and it is almost guaranteed that you will see some.

At various junctions on the trail, I will point out the way back to the parking lot for anyone that prefers a shorter hike.

If it’s raining, this will be postponed. I will make and post the decision by about 4:00 pm CT.
